Hurtigruten ASA currently owns five fast ferries
after the divestment of the ferries in Troms and
Nordland County and the fast ferries in Nordland on 5
January 2009. The remaining fast ferries operations
cease at year-end 2009 when Veolia Transport Nord
takes over the fast ferry routes Tromsø-Finnsnes-
Hurtigruten's remaining fast ferries will be sold or
rented out. MV "Fjordprinsessen" and MV "Vågsfjord"
will be sold to Torghatten Nord AS for respectively
NOK 9.5 million and NOK 7.5 million. Transfer date
will be on 4 January 2010 and the transaction will
have no considerable accounting gains or losses.
Hurtigruten has signed a letter of intent with a
Greek company regarding the divestment of
MS "Fjorddronningen II".
MS "Fjordkongen" and MS "Fjorddronningen" have been
rented out to Veolia Transport Nord AS on a bareboat
charter to be used on the route Tromsø-Finnsnes-
Harstad. MS "Fjordkongen" will be rented out until 20
February 2010 and MS "Fjorddronningen" until 20 April
2010. Hurtigruten will thereafter seek to divest the
two fast ferries.
